A thoroughly enjoyable trip to the Harlow Carr Flower Show last Friday.
The stalls were fine – a mixture of plants, pots and ornaments for sale – but the real attraction was the gardens, which were looking glorious.
I was particularly taken by the stream-side planting.
Isn’t it brilliant?
The main borders were wonderful, and the tropical garden, too (of course).
We had a sleeping baby, so didn’t make it to any of the talks or demonstrations, which was a real shame.
The lad started to stir just as “Happy and Healthy Houseplants” was about to start. Shame to have missed it, seeing as my houseplants are, for the most part, unhappy and unhealthy.
All in all, an excellent day out. I think they did a splendid job, and look forward to returning next year.
